A Word About Us

Who We Are

Grace Communion International – New Brunswick

We are members of an international Christian fellowship, on mission with the Father, Son, and Spirit, living and sharing the gospel. GCI  is an international Christian fellowship with about 50,000 members formed into 900 churches spread across 100 countries.

In Moncton, we are a very small congregation.  We meet in the board room of the SAGE building every Sunday.  Members are faithful and committed to serving united to Jesus.

In Saint John, the congregation is also small. We meet in the parlour of Portland United church on the second Sunday of every month.  members are also committed to serving our Lord Jesus.

Everyone is welcome to worship with us. Our worship services include the singing of praise to our great God, prayer, and a sermon which is expository in nature.

We are committed to sharing the good news found in Jesus as God leads us and open doors.

GCI is a member of the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.

Grace Communion is Trinitarian in its teaching. The following is an outline of what we believe:

We believe that theology should be rooted in the Bible, especially the New Testament. We see a reliable theology articulated by Irenaeus, Athanasius, Gregory Nazianzus, and more recently, Karl Barth, Thomas F. Torrance, and many others. Our teachings include:

  • The Father, Son, and Spirit are one God, united in love for one another.

  • Jesus Christ, as the Word made flesh, is fully God and fully human.

  • Jesus accurately reveals the goodness and love of God, and reveals humanity as God intended us to be.

  • As our Creator, Jesus represented all humanity, and all people benefit from his vicarious humanity: his life, death, resurrection and ascension.

  •  Jesus Christ atoned for all sin and suffered its full consequences for us.

  •  God has in Christ reconciled all humanity to himself (Colossians 1:20). (However, universal atonement should not be equated with universalism. Eternal life is the free gift of God for all those who come to faith in Jesus.)

  • The judgment of God against evil has been executed in Jesus Christ so that all might repent and receive forgiveness and, through the Holy Spirit, share in Christ’s resurrected, eternal life.

  • People are exhorted to respond to this reconciliation and participate in the life for which we were all created.

  • Jesus, as the nexus of divinity and humanity, has enabled humanity to participate in the life and love of the Trinity, which was God’s intent from before the beginning of time." (https://www.gci.org/aboutus/theology)
